Breaking down in the Outback is a concern most travellers think about and something you should definitely prepare for. In the event of a breakdown the number one rule is do not leave your vehicle, as it is a source of shelter and food. Another passing vehicle will come along, in time, to help and leaving your vehicle could end in disaster if you don’t know where the next source of help is available. Pack extra food, fuel, water and tools for the journey and prepare to travel in Spring as it is the most enjoyable time to visit the Outback.
